Using this Web Site

Arrick Wilkinson, Webmaster

Hello, my name is Arrick Wilkinson, and I am the WebMaster for this site. I take responsibility for the overall design, and at least some of the content.

Across the top of the screen just below the header, is the main blue navigational bar.
Incidentally, if this doesn't appear, it may be due to the security setting on your browser preventing the use of Javascript. This bar can be thought of as dividing the website into major "chapters" -

Home ( this set of pages),

Newslines ( where you will find current and previous issues of the Presbytery Newsletter),

a Diary for the next year (of events organised either by the Presbytery or by one of its committees),

a section which can take you straight to information about any of the Churches which lie within the bounds of the Presbytery (which will lead you to a full directory of the office bearers of that church along with details of its time of worship, a brief introduction to and by the minister, usually with a picture of the church, and a link to the website for the church if there is one),

a Feedback form (where you can send mail to me, to the Presbytery Clerk or the Presbytery Office or to the Presbytery Press Officer, Bill Hannah),

a page about Presbytery with news releases and the publicly available minutes, a series of pages about the work of and interests of the Committees of Presbytery,

a series of pages about what the Guild is doing locally and nationally, and

a link to the Prayer section with articles by the Presbytery Prayer Co-ordinator, and the current issue of PrayerLines.

This top menu bar does not change. You can tell which "Chapter " you are in by the title at the top of the left-hand set of menus.

The left hand menu changes all the time, reflecting the sub-sections within the chapter and providing an easy means of getting to these sections directly. When you move your mouse over one of the sections it will (often) look as if you have pushed a button. If you then click your mouse, you will be taken to that section

Usually the title at the top of the main body of text lets you know which chapter and section you are in.

Finally, at the right hand side of the screen in the Home Chapter (and elsewhere too on occasion), there is a scrolling menu of top news items. Moving your mouse over these items will stop the section moving, and you can go to the relevant story simply by clicking on the title. In the NewsLines section this column will have a list of all the articles in the current issue. Elsewhere, other things may be displayed here, or it may just be missing, to allow more space for the main text.

Please let me know how you think the site could be improved, preferably by using the feedback form.

Arrick.
